From day one, mom cleans up after her puppies—an instinctive behavior to reduce pathogens and protect them from predators. The puppies learn this from her. But as they grow, things start to change. Once you start weaning them onto solid food, mom typically stops cleaning up after them. That’s when the puppies begin trampling through and even eating their own feces. Now, the unenviable job of cleaning up falls to you—yuck!

But there’s a better solution. This specially designed poop tray is sturdy enough for mom to use and low enough (just 1.5 inches) for the puppies to climb on. The grate spacing is tight enough that their paws won’t fall through but wide enough for the poop to drop through easily. It’s also quick and easy to clean. The heavy-duty vinyl-covered metal grate is hinged to the plastic tray, so you can lift it, remove soiled paper towels, wipe it down, and replace with fresh towels—all in no time. This keeps the poop away from the puppies.

Many puppy trays have small square holes, but puppy poop is long, like a tootsie roll, and doesn’t fall through those holes. This means feces stays on top, and puppies often track or even eat it! Our tray features ½" x 5" holes, allowing poop to fall through quickly, keeping it contained in the tray and away from your puppies. Plus, the tray is low enough for the pups to climb on, and the solid grate is much sturdier than the flimsy plastic ones that puppies tend to chew apart.
